If you want to get in coaching because it is the new trend or it is a good job to get your more money, you might be in the wrong job. Your clients will sooner or later feel if you are genuinely interested or faking it.
- Are you a coach or aspiring to be one?
- How does coaching as a career aligns with who you are as a person?
- How being a coach can help you fulfill your life purpose and your noble goals?
Deciding to be a coach was one of the best decisions I ever made in my career. After 12 years in human resources and training that was the right move. Being an emotional intelligence coach allowed me to understand myself more work on myself first before helping others. If you got into coaching because you enjoy serving others, helping others be happy in life, work, or career then you are going in the right direction.

Getting into coaching is like addiction? Yes, the more you learn about it the more you want to learn. It works on your brain. The more coaching sessions you do with different clients the more you want to give from your time -be it paid or volunteer- just to observe others getting insights and finding their way.
To be on the right track in your learning make sure you connect yourself with the right coaching organization as that can give you the drive and the structure. Being a member in the International Coaching Federation gave me a lot of benefits, it allowed me to be exposed to different methods in coaching and learning. I learnt that learning never stops. A coach needs to keep practicing and training as that is the only way you can bring value to yourself and your clients. The best thing I believe the International Coaching Federation did is adding mentor coaching as part of the certification requirement for all levels. A mentor can really help you focus on strengthening the core competencies.
